Ring Cafe. Budapest

The trend in Hungary seems that many restaurants call themselves a cafe when in fact they are far more than just a cafe. The Ring Cafe on Andrassy is no exception, it is in fact a gourmet style dining experience just waiting for you to discover it.

If you’re looking for good dining in Budapest, this is one of the best places to eat in the city. On arrival the atmosphere was relaxing but just alive enough to not seem dull. The lighting really sets the mood. I commend the staff on a fantastic service, I was greeted with a smile and served promptly.

I ordered the cheddar burger because I’d heard this was the best burger in Budapest, and it did not disappoint me. The meat patty was succulent and cooked just perfectly to medium rare. The Ciabatta bun was a little dry and chewy, an unusual choice I guess but it worked well with the gourmet style arrangement. The generous amount of vegetables were fresh and juicy, which compensated for the ciabatta bun. When the elements of crisp salad, juicy beef and ciabatta combine, it makes a delicious mouth watering concoction. I loved the relish dips served in accompanying finger bowls.

The fries were heavenly, perfectly crisp on the outside, soft potato inside. Fried until a healthy golden brown. A bottle of dreher dark premium was my choice of drink, it felt good to be back in Europe with delicious beer, and top quality dining at a reasonable price. If you’re in Budapest, you should definitely make a visit to the Ring Cafe.
